Video conferencing
In Prysm for rooms, the Video Conferencing (VC) feature enables you to collaborate via video calls.
Note: VC is an optional feature. Please contact support@prysm.com to learn more about implementing it. When it is implemented, you see this VC icon on the left side of your Prysm for rooms window:
Starting a video conference
- Tap the VC icon on the left side of your Prysm for rooms window:
The VC controls appear. - Use the number pad to enter the number you want to call, or select a recent number from the Recent Calls list.Note: In the number field, tap the backspace button to remove numbers (or hold the button to clear the field):
- Tap the Place Call button to initiate the call.
- Tap the Privacy Mute button to mute your microphone.
- Tap the Show Content toggle to turn your camera on and off.
Using the video conferencing Control tab
The Video Conferencing (VC) feature's Control tab lets you control your camera and your Cisco or Polycom video software interface.
- Set the toggle to Camera Mode to control your camera. In Camera Mode, the arrow buttons control your VC camera's direction.
- Set the toggle to Menu Mode to control your video software interface. In Menu Mode, the arrow buttons control the VC menus in the Live Source.
- Tap the Home button to display the home screen of the VC equipment in the VC Live Source. The buttons under the Home button (for Cisco equipment only) are customizable function buttons to control the menu options.
- Tap the Magnification buttons to zoom the camera in or out.
- Tap the Main Camera field to switch between multiple cameras (if multiple cameras are configured in your deployment).
- Tap the Preset buttons to quickly switch between saved cameras, camera directions, and camera zoom levels.
- To save a new preset: Select which camera to use, adjust the direction, and adjust the zoom. Then press and hold any of the preset buttons until the Preset Saved message appears at the top of the button.
Note: To use VC, your administrator must configure some live source settings, which are described in detail in the Prysm Application Appliance Configuration Guide, 520-00064-00.
