Skype for Business
- Prysm for rooms users can use Skype for Business integrated into Prysm for rooms.
- Prysm for web and desktop users can use Skype for Business outside Prysm applications to connect to meetings.
Prysm for rooms integrates with Skype for Business ™ (S4B) to enable collaboration through audio, video, chat, and content sharing.
Your Skype for Business credentials are your network credentials unless you are using a legacy Active Directory configuration.
- Tap the Skype tab on the left side of the screen to open the Skype for Business menu.
- Enter your network email address, username, and password.
- Tap the Sign In button.
Some deployments of Prysm use an LDAP version of Active Directory. When you sign in to Prysm using your Active Directory Account, you are automatically signed in to S4B. This is an extra feature that requires additional configuration. Contact your system administrator for questions about Active Directory.
In Prysm for rooms, you can quickly start a Skype for Business meeting:
- Sign in to Skype for Business.
- Tap the Meet Now button.
The meeting window opens. - On the Contacts tab, tap the contact you want to add to the meeting, and tap the Add Contact button:
After you sign in, the first tab you see is your profile. The Profiles tab includes buttons to change your status, view scheduled Skype for Business meetings, view and select contacts, start a quick meeting, adjust your settings, or sign out.
You also see controls on the left to select the other tabs: Contacts, Meetings, and Settings.
When you start an impromptu meeting (Meet Now), join a scheduled meeting, or select a contact and call or chat, the meeting window and separate meeting toolbar appear.
The meeting window and toolbar give you these options:
- To toggle the window to landscape or portrait view, tap:
- To share content with the meeting, tap the broadcast zone button:
- To toggle your microphone on or off, tap:
- To toggle your camera on or off, tap:Note: In some cases, the Skype video camera does not return as expected when turned off and then back on. To resolve, mute the Skype microphone until the incoming video feed is displayed, then unmute the microphone.
- To toggle the chat panel on or off, tap:
- To end a meeting, tap:
When you're signed in to Skype for Business and you receive a call, a notification appears:
Tap the camera button to answer the call with video and audio, or tap the microphone button to answer with audio only. To dismiss the notification, press the X.
If you're in a call when you receive a notification, you can add the caller to your current call. If you answer a call when you're in another call, the original call is disconnected.
In Prysm for rooms, you can use the broadcast zone to share content with other users on a Skype for Business call.
- Sign in to Skype for Business.
- Start a meeting.
- In the meeting window, tap the broadcast zone button:
The broadcast zone window appears. - Tap and drag the broadcast zone window so that it's over the screen area and content that you want to share.
- Using two fingers on the broadcast zone window, move them together or apart to make the window smaller or larger until it covers exactly the area you want to share.
- Tap the broadcast button.
The broadcast zone window shows the message ON AIR so that you know you're sharing content with the meeting. - To stop sharing content with the meeting, tap the stop button:
- In the broadcast zone window, you can also do the following:
- To add people from your contacts to the meeting, tap:
- To take a screenshot of everything in the broadcast zone window and save it to your project files, tap:
- To email a screenshot of everything in the broadcast zone to yourself or to everyone else in the meeting, tap:
