Prysm Release 2.12 - External Release Notes

February 2018

Release Overview

Prysm Release 2.12 contains several new features as well as several bug fixes.

Release 2.12 Features and Enhancements

1. Encryption Key Management

By default, project files for accounts on the Prysm hosted cloud are encrypted using an application encryption key. For additional security, you can apply a unique encryption key, specific to your organization, to encrypt your Prysm project files. To enable account encryption, you must install a private key on each Prysm Application Appliance and a public key in Admin Portal.

Note: Prysm Application Appliances must be updated to Prysm Release 2.12 to support account encryption.

Only Prysm Organizational Admins have the permissions required for encryption key management.

For additional details on how to implement this feature at your organization, refer to information in the Prysm Help Center under Enabling Account Encryption.

2. Sharing Workspace Links

You can share a workspace's web address as a link, so that others can easily access a workspace to collaborate. The workspace link can be copied and pasted for sharing in emails, calendar entries, or instant messages, making it easy to route meeting participants into desired Prysm projects.

When you add a new participant to a project, Prysm sends the participant an email that contains the new workspace link that takes them directly to the default project workspace.

If a licensed or guest user receives a shared URL for a project they have been newly invited to, they will be routed to the project lobby. Once in the project lobby, the project owner can promote them, via Prysm for web or Prysm for rooms, from the lobby to a project participant.

Guest users are able to sign in and see the Projects Home Page and all the projects they have been invited to. Guest users can just select a project from the Home page view and they will be taken to the lobby for that project. Licensed users that have been invited as guest participants to certain projects will also see those projects on their home page.

3. Prysm Go Now Works Offline

You can use Prysm Go even when your internet connection is down. Regardless of the system's internet connection status, you can use the Prysm Go sketchboard and connect a live source using a wired HDMI connection or Apple Airplay (if the local network connection is working). However, if the internet connection is lost, Google Cast won't work in Prysm Go.

4. Sticky Note Improvements

In Prysm Release 2.12, the sticky note colors have been updated to match on Prysm for rooms and Prysm for web. In addition, in Prysm for web, the gray sticky note color has been changed to white. This improves the sticky note experience on all platforms.

5. Prysm for Web Updates

  • To improve access to tools, the tools menu is available by right-clicking the workspace background, except for touch-enabled devices.
  • When a project file is loaded to a workspace, the project file name is displayed at the top of the file asset after it is selected.
