Prysm Release 2.11 - External Release Notes

December 2017

Release Overview

Prysm Release 2.11 contains several new features as well as several bug fixes.

New Features

  • In-room Home Page Redesign

After signing into a display, a redesigned Home Page provides in-room users with an intuitive interface that allows them to quickly get started working. Existing users will appreciate the progress, as we make it easier for them to navigate projects and workspaces. With the addition of Project search, sort, and filters; finding the desired Project has never been easier. For information, see  .

  • Sketchboard

A new stage asset, the Sketchboard, is the next generation whiteboard. The sketchboard is a new asset type for sketching, annotating, and capturing ideas. For more information, see   .

  • New User Welcome Wizard (Prysm for Web)

Upon their first sign in to Prysm for Web at https://app.prysm.com, new users are prompted with an introductory self-guided slide show that explains the benefits of Prysm and some useful tips for getting started with creating projects and sharing information with other participants. While the Welcome Wizard is only available on Prysm for Web with this release, it will be added to additional platforms in future releases.

  • Windows 10 Support

In Release 2.11, we will begin supporting Windows 10 Application Appliances for the in-room client deployments. All appliances for new orders will ship pre-imaged with Windows 10, unless otherwise requested.

    • Appliances that are running Windows 8 are supported by this new Release 2.11 of the Prysm Application Suite
    • We recommend that all appliances in a deployment are on the same Prysm Release. You can use a Windows 8, Release 2.11 with a Windows 10, release 2.11, or a Windows 8, Release 2.10 with a Windows 10, Release 2.10, but we don't recommend using Release 2.11 with Release 2.10.
  • Online Help Center

Organization Administrators will now be provided access to online help information that allows them to seek and obtain administrative and user help information without leaving the Prysm site.

  • Visual Snapgrid Editor

Creating and maintaining custom snapgrids can be complex and previously required the creator to understand XML language and other technical requirements. To address that, a new Visual Snapgrid Editor has been added to the Admin Portal. Users can now use the new editor to more easily and intuitively create and customize snapgrids. Creating and editing a snapgrid requires appropriate administrative rights for some tasks. The Organization Administrator should contact Prysm Support to obtain required privileges.

  • Co-browsing Session Synchronization

In the previous released version, the implementation of Co-browsing required a user to visit a fully-authenticated website to sign in with each Co-browser that was to be used. This was cumbersome when multiple Co-browsers were desired, because the sign in had to be performed for each Co-browser.

With this release, users now have full session sharing capabilities between all Co-browser instances opened anywhere in Prysm. As an example, when you sign into Salesforce.com in one Co-browser, you are automatically signed into Salesforce.com on a second (and all subsequent) Co-browsers with no need to sign in again. There may be some instances where this does not apply.

Note: Some web sites clear their cookies when you open a browser. For these web sites, you will need to enter your sign in information again when you open a new co-browser.
  • Simplified Chinese Translation

Buttons and messages within Prysm Go have been configured to include Simplified Chinese Translations. Most buttons and messages in the fully-authenticated experience have been translated to Simplified Chinese.
