Licensing and prerequisites for Skype for Business
Skype for Business is an optional add-on that requires a purchase order before it can be enabled.
Support for Skype for Business within Prysm is an optional upgrade feature. Refer to the Sales/Purchase Order to determine which version of this feature has been requested by the customer to be integrated with Prysm, installed onto the Prysm Application Appliance, and enabled in the field. If it has not been installed/enabled prior to shipment/delivery, it can be installed/enabled by a properly trained and qualified field service technician with the appropriate system permissions. Once installed, enabling support for Skype for Business within Prysm is an easily applied settings change. See Installing Skype for Business 2016 or Installing Skype for Business 2015 with the Microsoft provided Lync 2013 - basic client (32-bit) below for installation requirement details depending on the requested version.

Authentication scenarios
- Application Appliances that ARE joined to the Customer's S4B domain and have Active Directory (AD) integration enabled for that appliance will attempt to authenticate the users S4B account via auto-discovery (where supported).
- Application Appliances that are NOT joined to the Customer's S4B domain and where AD integration is NOT enabled will require that the user manually enter their S4B credentials after signing into Prysm.
DNS, ports, and protocols
- Information about DNS, Ports and Protocols: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/Dn951397.aspx
Verification
- The Partner or Field Engineer needs to verify that the customer expects to utilize S4B through the Prysm interface and that S4B has either been installed or remains to be installed on the Prysm Application Appliance.
Upgrading systems not already loaded with Skype for Business
If Skype for Business has been installed on the Prysm Application Appliance, it must be enabled prior to launching Prysm. When Prysm launches, Skype for Business automatically runs in the background and the Skype icon is visible on the side menu tab.
If Skype for Business has not been installed on the Prysm Application Appliance, then the following packages and service packs must be installed prior to enabling Skype for Business and launching Prysm.
Refer to the Sales/Purchase Order to determine which version of this feature (2015 or 2016) has been requested by the customer to be integrated with Prysm. Depending on the package and customer licensing agreement with Microsoft, install the appropriate version of Skype for Business:
