Creating a Windows Firewall allowance

To ensure Skype for Business runs without security notifications (pop-ups), you need to create a Windows Firewall allowance. Follow the steps below to create this allowance:

  1. Open the Control Panel and navigate to System and Security > Windows Firewall > Allow an app or feature through Windows Firewall.
  2. Select Allow another app or feature through Windows Firewall.
  3. Select Change Settings.
  4. Select Allow another app....
  5. Select Browse.
  6. Navigate to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office15, select lync.exe and then open it.
  7. Select Add
  8. Make sure that Skype for Business (desktop)is now selected in the Allowed apps and features list and then select OK.

Skype for Business will now work with Prysm without any security related pop-ups.
