Creating permission groups

You might want to create new permission groups to grant specific additional privileges, such as the ability to manage projects and to enable workspace read-only mode. You might also want to enable any Prysm for web user to invite guests to a project, because only the project owner can invite guests from Prysm for web. To do this, you can create a permission group with all of the additional privileges needed and then add users to the group.

  1. Navigate to Permission Groups and click Create Group.
  2. Enter a name for the group and click Save.
You may want to name your group based on the permissions. For example, if the new Permission Group is for users in the Presales department, you may want to name the new group Presales.
  3. From the Edit Group page, in the Permission Locations section, click Client to display the client permission categories, then expand the categories to display permissions that are available.
  4. Select Add to add permissions to the group.
For example, select Add for CanToggleReadOnlyMode and CanCopyProjects permissions.
The new permissions are added to the group.
  5. In the Permission Locations section, click Admin and expand the Project Category.
  6. To add the ability for all users to manage guests, click Add next to CanManageProjectsUsersInAccount.
Warning: Enable the CanManageProjectsUsersInAccount permission with caution. Although adding this permission enables any licensed user in Prysm for web to invite guests to a project, it can have an unexpected consequence in that it also permits the licensed user to remove other licensed users, including the project owner, from the project.
